In Memory of “Merlin”
A donation from Nancy Scott Lawless in memory of her cat Merlin & in honor of Lucky Star Dr. Kelly Vex will provide for the spay/neuter of three needy cats! Thanks to Nancy and Dr. Vex for thinking of Lucky Star and to Dr. Iris Furlong & People for Animals for performing the surgeries. As he sits in the warm sun at the Rainbow Bridge, Merlin must be very proud!

Editor’s Note: Lucky Star is not a 501 C3, and does not routinely solicit donations. We do accept $ for major mailings /efforts to enroll new Veterinarians. In this case, we were very pleased to be involved in deciding how this generous donation could provide the most benefit, and to be able to tell you about Merlin & Nancy’s lovely tribute to him and to Dr. Vex.

2005 Goal Update
As we reach for our ambitious goal of 20 Lucky Stars by year-end, we thank our current members and appreciate their participation more than ever!

Our efforts continue! We have approached professional veterinary associations, sought endorsement by well known animal advocates and made approaches to individual doctors based on leads from Lucky Star members, their clients, animal control officers and rescue groups. To make membership more attractive, we have contacted veterinary service providers to see if they might recognize our members in some special way.

We look forward to the day when we can report new members as a result!
