OPINION: WHY S/N IS “ESSENTIAL!”
CDC guidelines called S/N “non essential”. NY’s Regulations list S/N as “Essential”; PA’s do not. In NJ the decision is the Veterinarian’s. Bryan Kortis (Neighborhood Cats) makes the compelling case for “Essential”@ https://www.animals24-7.org/2020/04/15/we-need-to-open-up-spay-neuter-now/

“50 SHADES of S/N” DURING COVID -19
Is S/N legal in your State? Best Friends & HSUS are monitoring current Stay-at-Home orders (date issued & date lifted.) For their current table by State re S/N directives: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iRkL6IU7COv9SthGZelfpWyjE7Z6umR9y2WkBLli-Xo/edit#gid=1680051414
IMPORTANCE OF GRATITUDE
A CBS radio piece in mid-May featured the im-portance of gratitude, especially during a crisis. The author of “Leading with Gratitude”was asked his most important guidance to everyone now. He said “assume positive intent!.... People want to do the right thing, it’s just more difficult in a crisis.” It’s time to say a big THANK YOU to our Lucky Stars and to all who are working tirelessly to help animals during this crisis! We have never needed or appreciated you more!

NJVMA UPDATE OF MAY 11, 2020
“NJVMA supports the AVMA position that resuming non-urgent/elective veterinary services is appropriate & that veterinary practices should continue to use strategies that conserve PPE & support social distancing as appropriate & practical.... At this time, it is the position of the NJVMA that veterinarians may resume elective procedures & wellness visits as long as PPE supply exceeds demand, & social distancing guidelines continue to be strictly maintained.”
