Early Age Spay Neuter
Spay/neuter compliance rate for animals adopted from shelters and rescue groups is said to be less than 60% nation wide. Many believe that early surgery (8 to 16 weeks) and adopting out only “fixed” animals can help the overpopulation crisis.
More info on early age spay neuter, endorsed by the American Veterinary Medical Association, can be found at www.avma.org, www.alleycat.org , www.americanhumane.org and www.avar.org.
