Tree House Promotes Lucky STAR
The Fall/Winter 2009 issue of Tree House News, a national publication of Chicago’s Tree House Humane Society, included an article about Lucky Star, using content drawn from our website. Learn more about Tree House at www.TreeHouseAnimals.org. Providing a full array of Animal Care Services, Education & Outreach & Public Service programs, Tree House is proud of its new S/N clinic and is happy to spread the word about all efforts to promote S/N. They recognize that, though our membership is currently NJ based, Lucky Star’s concept knows no geographic boundaries. A variety of efforts continue to help spread that word!
All Pledges Renewed for 2010!
Our sincere thanks to all our Lucky Star Veterinarians for renewing their very important pledges of free S/N surgeries & other services for 2010. Their ongoing generosity is at once valuable AND priceless!
NO S/N Tax Check Off til 2011!!
The 2009 NJ law permitting these donations is not effective until tax year 2010. So, no “S/N check offs” can be made until 2011, when 2010 returns are filed. Look for more in future editions on steps by NJ to secure these $’s for their intended purpose!
Chinese Year of the Tiger Feb 14th
Here’s hoping that 2010 will be an especially good one for all the “mini-tigers” out there that need a home & a “Fix”. To plan your Chinese New Year events to benefit cats check out “Year of the Tiger” info on the web. This year, Chinese New Year happens to fall on Valentines Day! PURR...fect!
S/N Free FOR Many in NYC!
“CBS Radio Vet” Dr. Elizabette Cohen devoted her Jan 3rd “Healthy & Happy Pets” segment to S/N, telling listeners of its benefits & reminding them that those on public assistance, or anyone with a pit bull, can have their animals S/N’ d for free in NYC. NYC residents are to contact local NYC shelters for details.
