Our Lucky Stars
We currently have 10 member veterinarians in private practice and 1 spay neuter clinic participating, representing 9 hospitals in 9 NJ towns.
Together these professionals have generously pledged 226 absolutely free spay neuter surgeries and other services for needy animals in 2007:

Pledge Numbers Increased!
We are happy to announce that Basking Ridge Animal Hospital has increased their pledge for 2007. Dr. Joseph Bloom has pledged the additional surgeries, for which he and the hospital have our sincere thanks! We appreciate very much the generous spirit with which each Lucky Star Veterinarian contributes their surgeries & services to needy animals in their care.
KATRINA POSTSCRIPT
In Dec.06 HSUS gave $800,000 to Louisiana State U. School of Veterinary Medicine to launch in Spring 07 a community companion animal health program including an active spay neuter component, giving students experience & helping animals in underserved communities in southern Louisiana. Grant funded by donations targeted to help areas hit by Hurricane Katrina. A phone poll of Louisiana pet owners found nearly 1.8 million dogs & cats in homes across the state. About 700,000 of those pets (40%) are not spayed or neutered!

We thank Animal Birth Control, Inc, Box 353, Pine Beach NJ 08741 for mention in their newsletter. Their mission: to help reduce the # of surplus animals by giving $ to those unable to pay full cost of spay-neuter. In 2006 they helped 2,878 cats, 83 dogs and 1 rabbit! Congratulations ABC!
