To Send a Free S/N Greeting Go To:
www.kateconnick.com/postcards/page100.html and design an E-card to the pet or “pet parent” of your choice. The photos to pick from are great, as are the sayings: “Today’s the day, good luck with your spay!” “Nothing is cuter than a guy who is neutered.” “Love me, Spay me!” and more!

No Neutersol & Beware FeralStat
Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs tells of end to Neutersol (injectible sterilant for male dogs) reintro plans in US and concerns re safety and efficacy of Feralstat contraceptive food additive for feral cats. (Active ingredient, megestrol acetate, same as in Ovaban for dogs, said to pose serious health risks in cats.) Check latest on both topics at www.acc-d.org.

Nat’l Training Ctr for Spay Neuter
The Humane Alliance (HA) began as a small s/n clinic in Asheville, NC in 1994. Today, HA, is the most sought-after model for hi-volume, low-cost, s/n training in the nation. Three yrs ago, HA created the National Spay/Neuter Response Team, a mentoring & training program to help others learn how to open & run clinics in their communities. On June 17th, ‘08, with $1 million from the ASPCA® & $1 million from PetSmart Charities, HA opened a state-of-the-art training center where organizations can send staff for hands-on training, the 1st-ever training center for s/n veterinarians and their surgical teams. The 13,000 sq. ft. center will house a clinic able to sterilize 250 dogs and cats from western NC per day. It will also train s/n clinic staff from across the country prior to their opening their own low-cost, hi-vol. s/n clinics in their own communities. HA’s curriculum has received rave reviews from faculty @ Texas A&M, Univ. of Tennessee & Cornell Univ. vet schools. Under the leadership of HA’s Medical Director Karla Brestle, DVM, surgical teams will learn how to deliver hi-quality, hi-volume surgical sterilizations more quickly & safely, & how to open & operate a self-sustaining s/n clinic in their community.
