MEET THE LUCKY STAR SPOKES CAT!

Our winner is “Tulip”, a now “fixed” & 100% indoor cat. A Morris Co. stray, <1 yr old, she had set up a nursery in Aug. for her 5 kittens under just the right deck at the house where she now lives w/her new Mom who says: “She came home from her Spay a yr to the day I lost my 1st dog so I think everything came together in a wonderful, magical way.” Tulip agrees! Thanks to a local rescue & a special program (link below) her spay was FREE & her kittens placed in foster care. Tulip’s Mom, a devoted “dog person” in 2003, found Betsy her forever home back then. So, Betsy is smiling too! We signed Tulip up quickly knowing that the folks from “Fix Felines by Five” would be after her too! https://www.townofmorristown.org/vertical/Sites/%7B0813EA2E-B627-4F82-BBB0-DDEE646947B5%7D/uploads/adopt_a_stray-free_spay_flyer_2016.jpg

S/N VS CULLING AT ISLAND PARADISE? Mauritius may be closer to leaving dog culling in its history books as Humane Society International opens the 1st ever dedicated S/N clinic there, sparing the lives of thousands of street dogs. Many tourists leave distraught after discovering the brutal government program used routinely to control the estimated ¼ million street dogs there. Around 2,000 dogs are killed every month, as part of the government’s program. The free S/N clinic & mobile facilityalso funded by International Animal Rescue & the Marching Animal Welfare Trust, will run initially for 1 yr. Per HSI’s senior director of companion animals “The people of Mauritius love their dogs but many simply don’t have access to local veterinary care to prevent endless puppies being born, and responsible dog ownership has never been taught…”
