“VACUUM” EFFECT–PUN INTENDED!
Bissell Pet Foundation (BPF) organized & sponsor-ed a FREE 3 day clinic in May to provide S/N, vaccinations, microchips, & heart-worm treatment for pets of W. Helena, Arkansas, a rural community in great need. 137 dogs & 85 cats were fixed. Free vouchers also given to 120 people, many w/multiple pets. BPF thanked Humane Society of Tulsa & Dr. Eric Jayne of Arkansas for helping make this happen & the Harbor Humane Society team from Michigan for assisting. UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES
As Western troops leave Afganastan, animal welfare work there is severely impact-ed. The work of “Nowzad”, named for the dog rescued by British Royal Marine, Penn Farthing, 13 yrs ago,“in country-on the ground” continues despite great challenges including Covid, new US rules on dog imports & US/UK pullout.

SINGLE SHOT S/N THERAPY ADVANCES
Per Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs- “We are excited to share promising news ... Based on positive results of a 1 yr study...+a 2nd yr breeding trial ... Michelson Found Animals is shifting from a grant based research project to a drug development phase. Subsequently, I learned the following & felt compelled to include it: “Dr. Eric Jayne, original Med.Director of “Spay Arkansas”, who became a nationally known authority on S/N & hero to many, died in July in a multi-vehicle crash in ND. He was 61.”
