A LOCAL “Nat’l Feral Cat Day” EVENT
On Oct 16th veterinarians & staff from People for Animals & McSnip held a no-cost-S/N clinic for feral cats @ PFA’s Hillside facility. 12 volunteers, including 4 veterinar-ians, gave homeless cats a medical check, vaccinations & surgery at no cost. PFA’s Dr. David Croman & McSnip owner Dr. Carolyn Wooley S/N’d nearly 50 feral cats in just over 4 hrs. Cats were examined, fixed, vaccinated, ear-tipped & after recovery, returned to their outdoor homes. Lucky Cats!!!

We are so pleased to welcome Dr. Carolyn Wooley, of Pennington’s McSNIP (Mercer Cats Spay/Neuter Incentive Program), a cats only clinic focusing on S/N, w/special pricing for ferals & shelter cats) as our newest Lucky Star! Thank you Dr. Wooley!
“World Spay Day” (WSD) is Feb 28th
“WSD”, started as “Spay Day USA” by the Doris Day Animal League in 1995, now includes participants in 40+ countries & a new, broader name. The annual event creates a wave of S/N news & activity, & highlights Feb. as S/N Awareness Month, w/a focus on companion animals, feral cats & street dogs. Events include low & no-cost S/N clinics, fundraisers & education.In 2011, more than 600 events were held in the US w/local shelters, S/N clinics, private practice veterinarians & veterinary schools, providing S/N services to nearly 42,000 dogs, cats & rabbits.
