RURAL AREA VETERINARY SERVICES (RAVS)
RAVS is a non-profit program of community service & veterinary mentorship bringing FREE vet services (wellness, S/N, emergency surgery, infectious disease mgmt.) to underserved rural communities where poverty & geographic isolation make regular veterinary care inaccessible. Each year 6 RAVS staff members & >350 volunteers provide Free essential vet care for >8,000 animals. RAVS provides training & experience for hundreds of future veterinary professionals beyond what a classroom can provide. Since 2003, RAVS has treated more than 130,000 animals in need and delivered over $25 million in high quality no-cost veterinary services in remote communities where care is otherwise not available. 2020 GOAL SET FOR S/N PARTNERSHIP
Liberty Humane Society & Exchange Physical Therapy Group have set a goal of serving 2,000 animals in Jersey City & Hoboken, expanding their $10 S/N program that served 1,502 animals in 2019.Residents of Jersey City or Hoboken can apply online for a subsidy to S/N their large dogs (40+ pounds) & outdoor cats in colonies of 10 or less.
