Our Lucky Stars
We currently have 8 member veterinarians in private practice and 1 spay neuter clinic participating, representing 9 hospitals in 9 NJ towns.

Betsy, YOU & Lucky Star- Priceless!
Our Lucky Star spokes cat, now 8 yrs old, started it all back in mid-2003. Drs. Hollo & Vex were the 1st to sign up. Then Drs. Barnea, Hummel & Picone responded to our Fall state-wide mailing to 100’s of veterinarians. Then in 2004, Drs Perez, Mock, & Stalder-Frey signed up, as did Dr. Biely for People for Animals. Many thanks to each of you for all the “Betsy’s” (or “Ben’s”) you have helped in these 8 years! Of course, none quite as cute as Betsy, which she has asked me to be sure to mention!
10 yrs of “Tails” from a S/N clinic
From 1998 to 2007, Alley Cat Allies (ACA) founded, funded, & operated a monthly S/N clinic in Northern Virginia for more than 6,500 feral cats from 4 states. Thanks to a volunteer staff & veterinarians working “pro bono”, there was no charge to clients, but donations were requested & covered about 1/3 of the clinic’s costs. ACA reports that the 10 yrs of data collected is consistent with other peer-reviewed studies of feral cat S/N clinics all over the country—98% of cats brought to the clinic were returned to their outdoor home. Another 1% had positive outcomes (adoption or new home). Less than ½ of 1% were euthanized due to medical issues. 2% were found to be already S/N’d. More female cats (56%) came through the clinic than male cats (46%). 19% of female cats seen were pregnant. (56% of all female cats seen in March were pregnant . This average dropped down to less than 1% in Oct, Nov & Dec each year.)
