| Our Mission: To gather, recognize and celebrate the continuing annual commitment of each of our member veterinarians to provide some level of absolutely free spay neuter services to the needy animals of their choice, along with any other free services they choose to provide. |
Our Lucky Stars
We currently have 10 member veterinarians in private practice and 1 spay neuter clinic participating, representing 9 hospitals in 9 NJ towns.
Together these professionals have generously pledged 222 absolutely free spay neuter surgeries and other services for needy animals in 2006:

NEW BEGINNINGS
It is not unusual for veterinarians to move from practice to practice or to venture out on their own. As some of our Lucky Stars do just that, we thank them very much for their past generosity and wish them much success in their new ventures. We hope that as new doors open for them, they will carry the Lucky Star mission and message with them!

Welcome Dr. Bloom & Dr. Daly!
We are very happy to welcome Dr. Joseph Bloom & Dr. Kellie Daly as Lucky Star Veterinarians! Dr. Bloom has done Lucky Star surgeries in the past at Basking Ridge Animal Hospital beyond pledges made, and Dr. Daly has recently joined the team. We are grateful for the team’s interest in helping the neediest of their community’s animals.
Help for Navajo Reservation
A grant from the Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs (www.acc-d.org) will help fund a SenesTech tm study on the Navajo Reservation where 160,000 dogs roam freely, many in packs. Working with the humane societies there, SenesTechtm will inject & monitor adopted female dogs with the test sterilant. By accelerating the normal depletion of follicles, hope is an animal can become sterile without the need for surgery. The SenesTech tm company works on female reproductive health for both humans and animals. Grant made possible through support from the Doris Day Animal League.
Dog overpopulation Funding
Morris Animal Foundation has $165,000 available to fund 1-2yr study on surgical and/or non surgical sterilization methods or programs to advance the health & welfare of individual and /or populations of dogs. Proposals due Nov 10th, Email: kbenjamin@morrisanimalfoundation.org
