WHAT WORKS FOR YOU WORKS FOR US
We wish former Lucky Star Dr. Sarah Barnes all the best on her new path. She has recently closed down her @home euthanasia practice to devote full time to her new role as wife & homemaker. Dr. Barnes’ participation in Lucky Star (LS) over the years has been an example of the flexibility of LS pledge opportunities & the creativity of our Lucky Stars, as well as their generosity. (When Dr. Barnes’ successful specialized practice became too busy to permit her to volunteer @ local high volume/low cost S/N clinics, she recrafted her pledge to instead fund free S/N’s @ a high volume clinic associated w/her Florida Veterinary School.) It is about “whatever works” for each individual Lucky Star currently & as their circumstances change. We thank Dr. Barnes for her past participation & we will always be happy to welcome her back should her circumstances permit.
50 YRS 4 NJ’s ANIMAL BIRTH CONTROL!
Congrats to Pine Beach NJ’s “ABC” celebrating 50 yrs of funding low cost S/N for needy animals. ABC is an all volunteer 501 (c) 3 established in 1969 by pooling personal $ to fund S/Ns of pets of folks in need. From the start, ABC received help from local vets. In their 2019 newsletter they list & thank 12 hospitals for their essential help & support through the years, with special thanks to the late Dr. Sammie Mickles, who opened his S/N clinic in Toms River in the 1990’s. In 2018, ABC & their partners en-abled the S/N of 3,642 Cats & 220 Dogs. Found photo above at www.animalbirthcontrolinc.com & could not resist sharing it here! Thank U ABC!
