GETTING NEWS OF YOUR OFFER OUT
Dr. Barnea asked Lucky Star’s help getting the word out about his offer of a free S/N each week in 2013. He listed the papers he wanted to reach. I adapted the basic Lucky Star Press Release to include details of his offer. I called & emailed the outlets he identified. One was interested. The reporter interviewed Dr. Barnea & called me with general ?’s re LS. The result was the article enclosed. Please let me know if you think LS can help you reach the needy animals you want to reach. Glad to help!
LUCKY STAR PROGRAM 10 YEARS OLD
It was July ‘03 when Betsy, who was to become & still serves as, the Lucky Star Spokes Cat, was trapped. In Oct.’03, Drs. Hollo & Vex signed on as the 1st Lucky Stars & a mailing went out to >500 NJVMA members thanks to Braunschweiger Jewelers. Drs. Barnea, Hummel & Picone responded to that mailing, followed soon by Dr. Stadler-Frey. Also in 2004, Vet techs Gail Stock & Ilene Katz recruited Dr. Perez & Dr. Mock & People for Animals (PFA) joined, supporting a program they saw as helping the S/N mission. In 2012, Dr. Barnes & Dr. Wooley joined after we read about each of their separate donations of S/N surgeries for charity. Recognizing each current PFA LS vet happily swelled LS ranks recently. Ten yrs. & 2,612 pledges later, we could not be more proud of all of our Lucky Stars!
