JOINT EFFORTS RE CRISIS IN #s

San Diego Animal Welfare Organizations Come Together
Just one example from SNAP-San Diego:
“Last week local animal welfare organizations came together to raise awareness about the critical state of animal shelters in San Diego County. SNAP has joined the partnership & asks the community to help in 3 ways-Adopt, Foster, and Spay/Neuter to reduce unwanted animals from entering our already over-capacity shelters ….Increasing the number of S/N’d animals is the only way to stop the crisis of pet overpopulation at its root.” State of the Shelters Press Conf. BPF’s “FIX THE FUTURE” CAMPAIGN
Since Sept 1, 2023 Bissell Pet Foundation (BPF) has helped more than 45 shelters & clinics, S/N’ing nearly 13,000 cats & dogs.Their network of >140 relief veterinarians is S/N’ing pets in 14 states nearly daily.Per Cincinnati Animal CARE (CAC):"Today we celebrated our 1,000th in-house S/N … thanks to BPF & the amazing CAC medical team! We have been so lucky to partner with BPF since November 2023 to support the S/N needs of the thousands of animals who enter the Hamilton Co. animal shelter annually.”..."BPF has made a significant impact on our operations & w/n the Hamilton Co. community," said Med. Director A. Gilbert. "By funding a regional veterinary team to come on-site to provide S/N services w/the support of our medical staff, we've been able to essentially eliminate our backlog, releasing animals for adoption sooner & allowing us to reallocate our resources to other pressing medical needs."
