Our Mission: To gather, recognize and celebrate the continuing annual commitment of each of our member veterinarians to provide some level of absolutely free spay neuter services to the needy animals of their choice, along with any other free services they choose to provide.

PORTLAND’S 2014 “SPAY ODYESSEY”
For World Spay Day the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland (ASAP) offered 500 FREE S/N’s for qualifying owners & caretakers of ferals & strays in Portland/ Vancouver area, week of Feb 24 by apmt. S/N’s were done by licensed veterinarians & subsidized by charitable donations & grants. Transport help was offered. ASPCA is a coalition of the area’s animal welfare groups & veterinary community.


BIG EXPANSION @ HUMANE ALLIANCE
Humane Alliance(HA), a S/N clinic in W. North Carolina fixes 23,000 pets/yr using surgical techniques they’ve developed. They also operate the only international training campus in the world for HVHQ S/N. A July 2014 ribbon cutting celebrated the quadrupling of their private veterinary & veterinary extern training programs to be able to train 855 professionals /yr in a 12,400 sq. ft. center with 6 surgical suites, classrooms & space for 150 patients, thanks to funding from PetSmart Charities & the ASPCA® . A 2,200 sqft dormitory houses up to 20 students. The new PetSmart Charities Humane Alliance Training Center now has a waiting list out to mid 2016 of private veterinarians, veterinary students, & animal welfare professionals opening S/N clinics.
